Bristol you beauty.

On saturday I went to Bristol in a vain attempt to take photos for my photography coursework. It was the first time I have been back to the city since I lived there and I fell back in love with its weird and wonderful ways.
I walked round for a few hours on my own reminiscing and doing a spot of shopping, before meeting my old housemate for a pint in the sunshine.
Whilst walking through stokes croft I saw a little shop called "Dutty" that I had always meant to pop into when I had lived there. I decided to check it out and was amazed at how awesome the shop was! Upstairs they sell gig/event tickets, every colour spray paint you could imagine, the coolest jewelry and a wide variety of graphic tees and other clothing. I bought the "dutty c'est chic" tee in a large because I like baggy tee's to chuck over leggings or jeans as it's easy. Downstairs in the shop there is a HUGE variety of vintage treasures that I spent a good while rifling through! The girls who worked in the shop were incredibly friendly and fun too talk to so I highly recommend everyone to pay them a visit!
www.shopdutty.com is their website so check them out!
In this post I am also wearing my patent leather moccasins and my dog tooth jacket which I adore. My shoes are from New look and my jacket is from Ebay, I am living in hope for better weather as it's still a little chilly for the cropped sleeves. I'm also featuring my beloved rings (excuse my abused and scarred hands, I work in a kitchen and the ovens are often unforgiving) as they are a constant in every outfit I wear. My collection seems to be growing rapidly which makes me happy but my bank balance cry!

All in all my visit to Bristol was amazing, I love and miss that quirky little place. I spent far too much money on clothes, cocktails and Nandos and failed to take any photos for my course work. Which means I will have to go back very soon I guess, what a shame ;)

That yellow building was is my old flat, the window on the top floor was my bedroom!

SOOOOOO MANY THINGS!

I love the sofa!

Love this little fella! DUTTY BABY!

My first ever ever post.

It's pretty intimidating writing my first post, I know nobody is going to see it and so I guess I'm just speaking to myself, but either way here it is.
I guess I should start my saying a little bit about myself. I'm Lisa, i'm 21 and I live in Somerset. I'm a Photography and textiles student and my biggest dream is to move to London and study fashion styling. This is why I have finally got my act together and started this blog, we've all got to start somewhere :)
One of my best friends Charlotte is doing really well with her blog (stepintomycloset, if you haven't seen it then you really should check it out) and I guess she has given me the inspiration to sort mine out.
I was stuck for so long thinking about what to name my blog and finally settled on "fashion is my beau" because I am a "single gal'" who seems to get done over by every man who comes into my life. Fashion doesn't do that, it doesn't forget to call you, or start flirting with one of your friends in front of you. It's a constant. It's forever thinking of new ways to reinvent yourself and I thank it for that.
This is one of my current favourite outfits, I love everything and anything Tartan and waited 4 grueling weeks for my scarf to arrive in the post (it's from a chinese ebay shop). My oversized blazer (from Newlook) is a my  spring uniform. Spring is well on its way and I can't justify wrapping up in my fur coat anymore, it's just too damn warm. I love my cut off wellies also, I bought them back in January whilst on a weekend away in Amsterdam (celebrating my 21st in style) I can't remember the name of the shop, but I do remember it was a gorgeous (but incredibly small) vintage shop in the Jordaan district. Amsterdam is the best city I have EVER been too, it's so beautiful and efficient and the people are incredibly friendly. The culture fantastic as well, but that's another story all together ;)

I guess that's all I have to say for now. This is all so new to me and I hope I can get my head around it quickly.
Thanks for reading my rambles.
